About the Commission
The commission is governed by County Ordinance Sections 120.790 through 120.870

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and recommend road and bridge projects to be funded by the county's transportation sales tax
  • Evaluates road improvement applications to formulate recommendations to the County Executive and County Council for road improvements to be funded
  • Prepares a 3-year Transportation Improvement Plan, which is submitted to the County Council for approval; County Council, if necessary, can modify this plan or approve the plan as submitted
  • Solicits applications for road improvements from the County Highway Department and municipalities of the county
