Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park |

In 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark began their journey up the Missouri River at the confluence of the two great rivers of North America, the Missouri and Mississippi. Today, visitors can watch as the Big Muddy and Mighty Mississippi merge into one at Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones - Confluence Point State Park. |

August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area |

This 6,987-acre area contains 3,000 acres of forest in addition to grassland, cropland, old fields, prairie, and wetlands. Facilities/features: boat rentals, picnic areas, pavilion, hiking trails, 43 fishing jetties, fishing docks, staffed firearms range, archery range, 5 viewing blinds, and a visitor center. The area also has 72 fishable lakes and ponds totaling 550 acres. |

Marais Temps Clair Conservation Area |

Marais Temps Clair Conservation Area is in north St. Charles County. This 935-acre area was once part of an expansive marsh ranging from St. Charles to Alton. The Marais Temps Clair marsh is an old oxbow of the Missouri River and was formed prior to the arrival of European settlers. |

Howell Island Conservation Area |

This island area is mostly forest surrounded by the Missouri River and Centaur Chute. Access is via a causeway over the chute. |

Weldon Spring Conservation Area |
|
| |
Weldon Spring Conservation Area is in St. Charles County, near the town of Weldon Spring. The area is named after John Weldon, who came to this region in 1796 with a Spanish Land Grant for 425 acres. This acreage included the spring after which Weldon Spring is named. |

Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge |

The Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge is part of the Mark Twain National Wildlife Refuge Complex. The Complex was established in 1958 for the protection of migratory birds, and spans 350 miles along the Mississippi River in the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. |
