Opens Oct. 20, 2018!

Oct. 20 is the official opening day of the park. Construction and other finishing touches are in the process of being completed. For these and safety reasons, please make plans to visit the park on opening day or after, not before. Stay tuned for details about more opening festivities!

Veterans Tribute Park Opening and Ribbon Cutting

Join us to celebrate the opening of Veterans Tribute Park! Discover all the exciting amenities this 120-acre park has to offer, including a destination playground for children of all abilities, a walking and biking trail system, fishing lakes, a dog park, play fields, and more. A ribbon cutting will be held at the Sammelmann Shelter at 1:15 p.m., Oct. 20. Thank you for your amazing support of this new park!

Destination Playground

Designed for children of all abilities, this playground includes a water play area and other interactive features to encourage skill development.

Paved Trails

A walking and biking trail system spans 1.6 miles, wrapping through and around the park.  

Fishing Lakes

Two lakes are stocked for catch-and-release fishing. Fishing is regulated by Missouri state laws.

Open-Play Fields

Three non-reservable open-play fields totaling 6 acres make perfect locations for pick-up games and activities.

Dog Park

A 3-acre off-leash dog park is divided into small and large dog areas.

Scenic Boardwalk

A raised boardwalk extends from the historic silo and past the playground to allow beautiful views of the lakes through a canopy of trees.

Picnic Shelters

The signature lakeside Sammelmann Shelter accommodates more than 100 guests, and two additional shelters accommodate 100 guests each. 

Veterans Memorial - COMING SOON

Plans are in development for a Veterans Memorial with a plaza, benches and memorial wall with water feature.
