Gutermuth Road - Phase 3

The project is a cooperative effort between the St. Charles County Highway Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to facilitate traffic flow, improve safety, and provide pedestrian and bicycle access. Proposed improvements include:

  • Reconstruct and widen road to 3-lane section.
  • Provide curb and gutter and enclosed drainage.
  • Install a new traffic signal at the intersection with Motherhead Road.
  • Add an 8-foot multi-use path on both sides of the road.

The project is funded by St. Charles County’s ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax and with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Surface Transportation Program-Suballocated (STP-S) funding. The engineering design consultant is GBA, Inc. and the project is estimated to cost approximately $4.2M.

Current Phase

Right of Way plans have been approved by MoDOT. Right-of-Way and easement acquisition work started back in February 2021. Right-of-Way was just granted by MoDOT. The final plans, specifications and estimate were also just approved. Construction bidding is anticipated to begin in January, with a construction Notice to Proceed around March/April.
