Health Services

The St. Charles County Department of Corrections Health Services Division is staffed by nurses, physicians, dentists, dental assistants and psychiatrists in addition to licensed mental health counselors, a suicide prevention coordinator and suicide prevention correctional officers specially trained to manage suicidal inmates. Inmates/detainees are screened upon arrival at the facility for various health concerns. The Health Services Division practices evidence-based medication and treatment.

  • Medical and mental health screenings of all inmates booked into the facility
  • Nursing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Covid Testing
  • Tuberculosis (TB) skin tests / Chest X-Rays if needed
  • Physical assessments
  • Medication administration to all inmates who have prescribed medications
  • Nursing sick call and treatments
  • Physician Sick Calls / Chronic Care (HTN, Cardiac, Thyroid, diabetes, etc.)
  • Psychiatric care

  • On-site lab blood draws

  • Diabetic Care (Accu Checks, Insulin Administration)
