Obtaining Copies of Tax Receipts

If you are visiting a local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office and paid your taxes at least a week ago, the DMV can look up the paid information at the office. The DMV may charge a nominal fee.

To obtain a paper copy of a tax receipt, there is a $1 statutory fee for each tax year’s receipt requested.

  • Visit the Collector’s Office and pay with cash, check, money order or credit/debit card and walk out with the Duplicate Receipt(s).
  • Mail a request stating the account number(s) and tax year(s) for which Duplicate Receipt(s) is(are) requested along with a check or money order for the total number of receipts requested times the $1 statutory fee to:  Michelle D. McBride, St. Charles County Collector of Revenue, 201 N Second St, Suite 134, Saint Charles, MO  63301 and the Duplicate(s) will be mailed to you.
  • Deposit a request stating the account number(s) and tax year(s) for which Duplicate Receipt(s) is(are) requested along with a check or money order for the total number of receipts requested times the $1 statutory fee in the “County” Drop Box on Second Street in Saint Charles (in front of the County Administration Building) and the Duplicate(s) will be mailed to you.

If you are renewing a license plate online, the Customer ID is the Account Number or PIN printed on the paid personal property tax receipt.  The Product Code is also printed on the receipt.  If your receipt is not available, call the Collector’s Office at 636-949-7470 for that information.
