The project reconstructs 0.33 miles of Duello Road starting approximately 400 feet north of Orf Road and ending at Route N where construction currently is taking place to relocate Hopewell Road and realign Route N to reduce hazardous curves. Proposed improvements include:
Widening Duello Road and adding curb and gutter and enclosed storm drainage.
Smoothing vertical alignment for improved sight distance.
Constructing ADA-compliant concrete sidewalks along both sides of the roadway.
Adding northbound and southbound left-turn lanes and a westbound right-turn lane at the intersection with Orf Road.
The project is funded by St. Charles County’s ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax and with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Surface Transportation Program-Suballocated (STP-S) funding. The engineering design consultant is Great River Engineering (GRE), and the project is estimated to cost approximately $2.9M.

Right-of-Way Plans have been reviewed and approved by MoDOT. Title work is complete. Appraisal work is underway. A contract negotiator, O.R. Colan, has been hired by the County, and offer letters should be sent out to start the purchase of the necessary right-of-way and easements in January. Construction start is possible late in 2023.
