April 7 Municipal Election Postponed Until June 2 in Response to COVID-19

Pursuant to Governor Mike Parson’s Executive Order 20-02 declaring a state of emergency in response to COVID-19 and a request from Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Governor Parson signed Executive Order 20-03 ordering all Missouri municipal elections previously scheduled for April 7, 2020, to be postponed to June 2, 2020.

Per the Executive Order:

  • The closing date to register to vote in this election remains March 11.
  • The deadline for filing as a write-in candidate for office remains March 27 at 5 p.m.
  • The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is extended to May 20.
  • A public test of voting equipment will be completed no later than June 1.
  • In-person absentee ballots may be cast in the Election Authority office until 5 p.m. on June 1.
  • Absentee ballots sent by mail must be received by the Election Authority by mail 7 p.m. on June 2.
  • Military and overseas voters must request a ballot from an election authority by 5 p.m. on May 29, and the deadline for local election authorities to make ballots available to such voters is April 18. Military and overseas ballots must be received by the election authority by June 5.

June 2, 2020 General Municipal Election Information

Last Day to Register to Vote in the June 2, 2020, General Municipal Election is Wednesday, March 11

  • St. Charles County residents may register in person at the Election Authority office at 397 Turner Boulevard in St. Peters. The office will be closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.
  • Residents may register while obtaining services from state agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, Division of Family Services, Military Recruitment or WIC.
  • Other options for registering to vote can be found in the "Helpful Resources" section located on this page and on the Voting in St. Charles County page.

Absentee Voting in the June 2 General Municipal Election Began Tuesday, Feb. 25, and is Extended to Monday, June 1

  • The last day for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is Wednesday, May 20, at 5 p.m.

Written Requests for Absentee Ballot Applications

Written requests for absentee ballots must be received in the Election Authority’s office no later than 5 p.m. the second Wednesday before any election. You may download, complete and return the Application for Absentee Ballot (PDF) for St. Charles County, Missouri, or your request must contain the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Address where you live
  • Address where you would like the ballot to be mailed (if different)
  • Reason for voting absentee
  • The date of the election
  • Your political party preference, if you are applying for a Primary Election Ballot
  • Your signature

Directions to the Election Authority

  • We are located off Highways 70 and 79 in St. Peters.
  • Exit off of Highway 70 and head north on Highway 79.
  • Get in the right lane and bear right onto the North Outer Road exit.
  • Go straight at the stop sign, crossing over the North Outer Road.
  • Enter onto Turner Boulevard. The Election Authority office is the second building on the right.
