Floodplain Strategy
The development of the county's strategy for floodplain development began in October, 1997 when more than 350 individuals throughout the county helped to formulate a dynamic plan for floodplain management in the county entitled Protecting Our Resources. This plan, since it was first adopted in February, 1999, is reviewed on a biannual basis through the county's Flood Plain Vision Board to ascertain that the plan remains updated, consistent, and coordinated in its implementation of the county's floodplain management strategy. The most recent update was forwarded to County Council and approved March 9, 2009 through County Council Resolution Number 09-02.
