Adoption Counselor
Assist potential adopters in selecting the right pet and help them interact with dogs and cats. Transport animals to off-site adoption events and assist with the adoption process at various events. Volunteers must have previous adoption experience or 40 hours working as a shelter volunteer.
Cat Socializer
Socialize and play with cats available for adoption to keep them active and used to being handled.
Dog Bathers / Groomer
Bathe and groom the dogs so they look and feel their best. You don’t have to have any prior grooming experience, but it helps if you don’t mind getting wet.
Dog Walker / Socializer
Exercise, socialize, and train dogs available for adoption while reinforcing positive behavior.
Doggie Dreams Field Trips
Take a dog on a day of adventure to provide time outside the shelter to de-stress and bring out the best in your canine companion.
Front Office Greeter / Kennel Greeter
Greeting and directing visitors really helps things go smoothly and makes a great and lasting impression. Help people find a lost pet or a new family member!
Kennel Assistant
Assist the kennel staff with feeding, cleaning, and sanitizing the kennels, so the animals are comfortable and always have a healthy environment.
Launderer
Blankets and towels are used daily to provide animal comfort. We need people to collect, wash / dry blankets and towels, and redistribute to animals that need extra care.
Medical Assistant
Have experience in the veterinary medical field? We are looking for vet tech students, pre-vet students, or those with some veterinary medical educational experience. To qualify for this position, volunteers must have a minimum of 60 hours working as a shelter volunteer or with veterinary tech experience.
Photographer
Take photographs of impounded dogs and cats to use on the website. Go to off-site and special events to take pictures of staff, volunteers, and animals.
Public Education
Do you like to interact with children? Are you comfortable talking to a group? We are looking for people with teaching skills to talk to kids in our community about dog bite prevention, responsible pet ownership, and pet safety. This position requires on the job training.
