Internships

The St. Charles County Department of Public Health welcomes college- and graduate-level students seeking to gain work experience in one of our divisions. Interns operate as a member of the department staff and contribute meaningful work products that further the overall mission. Non-paid internship opportunities exist in all department areas, but student may receive educational credit for their service.

Eligibility

Internships with St. Charles County are offered through an interview process, with positions filled by the most qualified applicant for the job task. Applicants must speak with their school or program to discuss the opportunity for educational credit during the internship period.

Supervision

During an internship period, individuals will be assigned a direct supervisor who will monitor progress and provide assistance where necessary.

Application Process

Internships are typically arranged through an area school or affiliated program. Alternatively, individuals may apply at least 3 months prior to the desired internship period by forwarding a resume and cover letter detailing the specific job interest to:
