Local Highway, Route Construction Information from MoDOT

One lane on the I-70 North Outer Road between Sonderen and the Fort Zumwalt School District Administration building will be closed starting March 21 for about four months. The lane will be closed after morning rush hour and will remain closed around-the-clock while crews work to create the new tie-in from the North Outer Road and Route K. The closure is part of the I-70 Traffic Flow Improvement project. For more information on the project visit

A section of Route N in St. Charles County will be closed next week. Route N will be closed at Long View Estate, which is about a mile west of Route K, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 20. The closure will allow crews to replace an underground pipe. This is the work that was originally scheduled for last week. Drivers can detour around the closure by using either Bryan Road or Route K. All work is weather permitting.

Starting today, the T.R. Hughes ramp to westbound I-70 will be closed. The ramp will be relocated as part of the I-70 improvement project going on between T.R. Hughes and Route K. The new, relocated ramp will reopen later this year. Drivers can detour around the ramp closure by either taking the I-70 North Outer Road (East Terra) to Route K or taking Mexico to Route K. Please allow extra time while using these detour routes as the extra traffic could cause delays.
