Local Highway, Route Construction and Closure Information from MoDOT
Route N at Sam’s Creek in St. Charles County is back open. The road closed in June to allow crews to replace the bridge. There is still some work to do on the bridge that can be completed without closing the bridge to traffic, including striping the road.
At 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, Peine Road will close at Peine Loop Road. Those who live east of Peine Loop Drive, including on Hill Drive, will still be able to directly access northbound and southbound Route 61 but those who live west of Peine Loop Road will have to use Peine Loop Road to access Route 61.
All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather. The work is part of a project to improve safety on Route 61. In addition to the overpass that will serve Route P and Peine Road, the crossovers at Grothe Road and at both Granville Drives will be closed and merging and turning lanes will also be extended. The project is expected to be completed next summer. For more information on the project go to http://www.modot.org/stlouis/major_projects/Route61SafetyProject.htm.
Starting today, the T.R. Hughes ramp to westbound I-70 will be closed. The ramp will be relocated as part of the I-70 improvement project going on between T.R. Hughes and Route K. The new, relocated ramp will reopen later this year. Drivers can detour around the ramp closure by either taking the I-70 North Outer Road (East Terra) to Route K or taking Mexico to Route K. Please allow extra time while using these detour routes as the extra traffic could cause delays. For more information on the I-70 Improvement Project being done in conjunction with the City of O’Fallon, please visit the project website at https://www.ofallon.mo.us/i-70-improvements-project.
MoDOT is conducting roadwork affecting the interchange at I-70 and Route K, and the outer roads between T.R. Hughes Boulevard and Woodlawn Avenue through late 2018. For closures, detours and additional project information, visit the City of O'Fallon's website and the website below.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close access from Route 61 to Route P in St. Charles County for three months starting next week. In addition, traffic on northbound Route 61 will be shifted to allow crews to continue work on the new overpass being built on Route 61 between Route P and Peine Road.
The only exception is for the businesses at the intersection of Route P and Route 61. A temporary bypass from Route 61 will be open to access those locations only. There will be no access to Route P from the temporary bypass. The work is part of the project to add a new interchange on Route 61 between Route P and Peine Road.
