East-West Gateway Council of Governments is taking public comments until July 24 regarding transportation projects currently being evaluated for St. Charles County. This includes new ramps at Heritage Crossing. Comments regarding your perception of traffic flow in this area is greatly appreciated.
Currently, Heritage Crossing is a partial interchange with access to northbound 94, and eastbound Route 364 and access from southbound 94 and westbound Route 364. There is no direct access to southbound 94 or from northbound Route 364.
“Shortly after the opening of the Page Avenue Extension/Route 364 to just south of Harvester Road in 2010, I started talking to the Missouri Department of Transportation about the need for additional ramps on and off of Route 364 at Heritage Crossing” says Councilman John White, District 7. “Residents who live in the subdivisions of Heritage heading home from the O’Fallon area need to exit Route 364 just past Jungermann Road onto the outer road and travel approximately two miles before reaching Heritage Crossing. This results in additional congestion at the intersections of Woodstone Drive, Harvester Road, and Jungs Station.”
To alleviate this congestion, St. Charles County Government has applied for Congestion, Mitigation, and Air Quality funds that are administered through East-West Gateway Council of Governments for the proposed new ramps.
“It is important that the residents of this area let East-West Gateway Council of Governments know that this is a needed improvement and that it is a project they want to see funded and constructed,” says Councilman White.
