  1. Veterans Tribute Park Ribbon Cutting and Opening

    October 20, 2018, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Veterans Tribute Park

    The wait is over! Join us to celebrate the opening of Veterans Tribute Park! Discover all the exciting amenities this 120-acre park has to offer, including a destination playground for children of all abilities, a walking and biking trail system, fishing lakes, a dog park, play fields, and more. A ribbon cutting will be held at the Sammelmann Shelter at 1:15 p.m. Thank you for your amazing support of this new park! Please note: Oct. 20 is the official opening day of the park. Construction and other finishing touches are in the process of being completed. For these and safety reasons, please make plans to visit the park on opening day or after, not before. Stay tuned for details about more opening festivities!

    Check out the airplanes and activity at St. Charles County Smartt Field Airport! Airplane pumpkin drop competition starts at 10 a.m. Call St. Charles Flying Service at 636-946-6066 to participate! Visit stcharlesflyingservice.com for more information. - View experimental and home-built aircraft. - Watch WW II B-25 and TBM bombers "carpet bomb" an airplane with pumpkins. - View historic military aircraft and vehicles, including the 2nd Ranger Infantry Battalion Re-Enactment display. - Take a ride on a Warbird aircraft. - Tour the Commemorative Air Force Museum and hangars. - See equipment from St. Charles County-area fire departments, including the Orchard Farm Fire Protection District. - Food and drink available to purchase!
