[ARCHIVED] Coleman charged with Abuse and Neglect of a Child-Resulting in Death

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MISSOURI- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that on July 18, 2018, Devon Michael Coleman, 31, of O’Fallon, was charged with Abuse and Neglect of a Child-Resulting in Death. Charges arose after and extensive investigation by the O’Fallon Police Department, which revealed that on Thursday, December 7, 2017, a minor child D.G. (D.O.B. 7/27/17) was found to be unresponsive and not breathing in his home. D.G. was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where, at 15:15 hours, D.G. (D.O.B. 7/27/17) was pronounced dead. Later, the medical examiner reported that D.G.’s death was a homicide as a result of asphyxiation by strangling or smothering. Contusions and injuries were found around the head, neck, face and eyes of D.G.

Coleman’s bond has been set at $750,000, cash only. Additionally, Coleman is currently in custody for a felony domestic violence charge.
