St. Charles County, Missouri- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that on January 11, 2019, Matthew C. Baker, 49, of O’Fallon was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury with seven (7) additional counts of child sexual abuse.
Original charges were filed on 10/19/2018 wherein it was alleged that Baker engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 12, and then again on 10/23/2018, additional child molestation charges were filed against Baker, in which the alleged victim was under the age of 12. Following significant media coverage, additional victims came forward. Upon further investigation, three more victims under the age of 12 have been identified.
Following indictment, Baker is currently charged with a total of 9 counts, as follows: 4 counts of Statutory Sodomy and Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a victim under the age of 12, 4 counts of Child Molestation with a victim under the age of 12, and 1 count of Sexual Misconduct with a victim under the age of 15.
Baker at the time of the original incident did have association with Boy Scouts of America. He has since been terminated from the organization.
Baker is currently in custody and has a bond of $500,000.00. This matter is now pending before The Honorable Judge Ted House. Baker is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
