St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Highway Department is announcing that the work on Pitman Hill Road between Windcastle Drive/Summit Ridge Place and Greens Bottom Road is advancing to the next phase. The closed section of roadway between Windcastle Drive/Summit Ridge Place and Pitman Trails is now re-opened, but the next phase of work will require closure of the road between Pitman Trails and Austin Manor starting on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
This phase will require closure of the road for five weeks. Once work is completed in this phase, the entire roadway will be open to two-way traffic for the remainder of the work. All work on the project should be completed by the end of the year.
Traffic will be required to use the signed detour route for approximately five weeks while the new road section is being built. Local traffic can access either side of the closure location, but no through traffic will be permitted. Motorists can access Pitman Hill Road using Towers Road to Caulks Hill Road to Greens Bottom Road. Signs notifying motorists of the closure and the necessary detours will be posted. The County will be using changeable message boards to notify residents of any date changes of the closure and opening.
This construction is part of a continuing effort by St. Charles County Government to improve the county’s road system for the safety of the community.
