St. Charles County, Missouri – The Easter Bunny is coming to the Youth Activity Park (YAP) in Dardenne Prairie, Saturday, April 13! To celebrate his arrival, we’re hosting several age-specific egg hunts and activities for children of all abilities. This fun-filled program is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
Bring your basket and join us from 10:30 a.m. to noon for an inclusive EGGstravaganza Hunt, co-hosted by the Parks Department, the St. Charles County Police Department and the National Optometric Student Association. In the morning, children ages 3 and under hunt at 10:30 a.m., ages 4–6 at 11:15 a.m., and ages 7–12 at noon. Children with mobility equipment hunt with magnetic sticks; those with visual disabilities hunt beeping eggs. A less stimulating hunt area is available for youth with sensory disabilities.
Rain or shine, more than 8,000 candy and toy-filled eggs are to be hidden throughout the park’s 25-acre facility. Each age group is in the hunt for a golden egg, and the lucky discoverer receives the grand prize. Photos with the Easter Bunny, egg-themed games, and a special appearance by the Chick-Fil-A Cow and Gateway Guardians Superheroes rounds out the activity schedule. Families are encouraged to bring their camera to capture these special moments.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, each child takes home a prize basket donated by Hayleigh’s Helping Hands with support from Cornerstone United Methodist Church and a Chick-Fil-A guest card. Batteries Plus Bulbs is supplying the batteries for the beeping eggs, Kohl’s 4 Kids and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon are giving away bike helmets, Bahama Buck’s is providing free treat vouchers for children, The Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis is hosting a craft, and students from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, members of the St. Charles County Ambulance District, Cornerstone Methodist Church and Lutheran High School Roboteers in St. Peters are assisting with the hunts. Blue Line Real Estate Team donated $500 and is the Legacy Sponsor of the event, and Johnson and Johnson Vision donated $100 and is the Friend of the Park Sponsor.
Don’t miss out on this exciting community event! Registration is limited to 100 children per hunt. Participants are encouraged to register by April 6 by calling the St. Charles County Parks Department at 636-949-7535 or online at http://bit.ly/EGGstravaganzaHunt2019.
