St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Election Authority is looking for election judges for the upcoming General Municipal Election on April 2. Judges receive training and are paid for their service.
Election judges work on Election Day at one of the 121 polling places located across the county. Duties include signing in registered voters, explaining procedures, providing ballots and monitoring the election.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a registered voter.
- Declare one of the two major political parties – Democrat or Republican.
- Attend a mandatory training class prior to serving.
- Be able to work from 5 a.m. until after polls close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
- Be able to help set up voting booths and sit for long periods of time.
Election judges may not serve in any election in which his or her name or the name of a relative within the second degree is on the ballot unless that candidate is unopposed.
