St. Charles County, Missouri – Calling all mountain biking enthusiasts! The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department’s annual mountain bike challenge is being held in a new location this year to accommodate its increasing growth and popularity. Formerly the Broemmelsiek Challenge and held in Broemmelsiek Park, the ICC Challenge will be held from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Sunday, April 7, at Indian Camp Creek Park in Foristell. This is the 8th year for the event, which is co-sponsored by the Parks Department, Momentum Cycles, and United Federation of Dirt (UFD).
Indian Camp Creek Park is St. Charles County’s largest park with 603 acres and more than 10 miles of multi-use trails. The ICC Challenge will utilize all of the trails to offer the most competitive bike challenge in St. Charles County.
The event begins at 9 a.m. with adult competitions in four categories: Pro Cat 1, Intermediate Cat 2, Beginner Cat 3 and Marathon. Each adult race features a fast, hard-packed, single track that winds through woodlands, prairies and over creek crossings. Youth, ages 9–18, compete at 9 a.m. for a 6 mile race. At 9:30 a.m. the free children’s competition begins for ages 2–9. This competition is held on a separate short loop with a few challenges. The top three winners of each race receive awards.
The cost of each race is from $15–$30, depending on the category. Pre-registration is requested. For more information, call Jeremy Powers or Chris Dial with Momentum Cycles at 636-240-9232 or visit https://www.bikereg.com/icc-challenge.
