St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Highway Department has reopened Femme Osage Creek Road after installation and work on a replacement bridge, located 0.1 miles west of Highway F, was completed Dec. 10. Although some final roadway work remains, traffic now has access to the new structure.

“We recognize that it presents an inconvenience any time a road is shut down for work. We are glad to have the bridge replaced with a brand new structure and re-open the roadway for motorists in that area,” said St. Charles County Engineer Craig Tajkowski. “While this roadway is open, we urge the motorists to remain alert as there is some finish work that remains. Please use caution around workers and equipment that may be present while work is being completed near the roadway.”

In the spring, a similar bridge replacement project will begin at the Cappeln Osage Road Bridge, immediately south of the intersection with Femme Osage Creek Road. Work on that new structure is anticipated to last 50 days.

These projects are a part of a continuing effort by St. Charles County Government to improve the county’s road system for the safety of the traveling public. Contact the St. Charles County Highway Department at 636-949-7305 for additional information concerning projects underway in unincorporated St. Charles County.
