St. Charles County, Missouri – Children of all ages and their families are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors, get active and read at the Storybook Walk: Summer Nights event from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, at Veterans Tribute Park, 1031 Kisker Road in Weldon Spring.
Hosted by the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department and the St. Charles City-County Library District, this free, fun-filled event begins with guided readings around the lakes of the acclaimed children’s book “Night Animals” by Gianna Marino.
After the ¾-mile walk, guests can participate in a variety of children’s festivities, crafts, and light refreshments provided by Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets under Shelter #3 in the park. Children can make and take home a cedar “tree cookie” necklace, camp craft, and explore night sounds during the St. Charles County Park Ranger’s “Call of the Wild” presentation.
