St. Charles County, Missouri – On Aug. 7, the St. Charles County Highway Department restricted a portion of eastbound Westwood Drive to one-way traffic for installation of new pavement and shoulders. The area, which will be restricted for approximately five months, is roughly half-way between Dunbarton Drive and South Breeze Lane and ends at Motherhead Road. All other areas of Westwood Drive remain open to two-way traffic.
Westbound traffic is required to detour around the one-way restricted area. During construction, eastbound traffic is allowed, but westbound traffic is not permitted through the area. Westbound motorists can gain access around the area by taking Wolfrum Road to Highway 94 to South Breeze Lane to Westwood Drive. Signs and changeable message boards are in the area to notify motorists of the detour.
This road project is part of a continuing effort by St. Charles County Government to improve the County’s road system for the safety of the travelling public.
