[ARCHIVED] St. Charles County Parks Welcomes Autumn with Free Fall Harvest Festival

St. Charles County, Missouri – Usher in autumn while enjoying a day of old-time music and outdoor festivities at the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Fall Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, at Broemmelsiek Park, 1795 Highway DD in Wentzville. Admission is free!

Family-friendly activities include:wreath and bird feeder making

  • old-fashioned woodworking, blacksmithing, fiber arts/spinning and sorghum pressing demonstration
  • paper marbling and other hands-on crafts
  • scenic hayrides through the park every 20 minutes
  • antique farm equipment and machinery display and demonstrations from the IL-MO Tractor Club
  • live folk music throughout the day

Guests also can learn how to make a batch of good old-fashioned apple butter and taste samples of homemade apple cider. Parks staff and vendors will sell pumpkins and other vegetables from the agriculture gardens, as well as a variety of historical toys and candy from the festival’s general store tent. FarmTruk also will be on site selling popular farm-to-table favorites from their food truck.
