St. Charles County, Missouri – With more than 5 inches of snow blanketing the St. Charles County area, the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department is ready to host a free “Snow Day” program for children from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., today at St. Charles County’s Quail Ridge Park, 560 Interstate Drive in Wentzville.
Classes at area schools are canceled, it’s not too unbearably cold outside, and the roads are safe to travel, so St. Charles County Park Rangers are prepared to entertain children with fun snow activities while they enjoy the day off. Children of all ages will be able to participate in snow games, snowman building contests, and snow relay, in addition to traditional sledding activities in the park. The winners of each activity will receive candy prizes; a fire ring will be set up in the park to help combat the cold.
Since Quail Ridge Park opened in 2000, the 250-acre park has become a popular place for children and adults to sled and recreate on snow days.
For more information about the Snow Day program or to confirm that the program is taking place, call the St. Charles County Parks Rainout Line at 636-707-0011 or visit the app on our website at www.stccparks.org.
