[ARCHIVED] St. Charles County Highway Department Hosts Virtual Open House for Gutermuth Road Phase III...

May 6, 2020

St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Highway Department is hosting an Informational Virtual Open House on the Gutermuth Road Phase III project. Residents may view plans and submit questions and comments online May 15-29, 2020, at sccmo.org/GutermuthOpenHouse.

Gutermuth Road Phase III construction will facilitate traffic flow, improve safety, and provide pedestrian and bicycle access from Route 364 to Motherhead Road. Specifically, the project includes three lanes of new pavement, an oversized sidewalk/trail on both sides of the road, enclosed drainage, and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Gutermuth and Motherhead roads.

The project, funded by St. Charles County and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) with GBA, Inc., serving as engineering consultant, is estimated to cost approximately $3.4 million. Design and right-of-way acquisition are tentatively expected to be complete by early 2021 and construction is planned to begin soon after.

Residents may request an appointment to view plans in person at the St. Charles County Highway Department, 301 N. Third Street in St. Charles. Contact Chris Bostic, Engineering Design Manager, at 636-949-7305 or cbostic@sccmo.org, to schedule. A mask and COVID-19 health screening are required to enter the building.

For additional questions, please contact the St. Charles County Highway Department at 636-949-7305.
