Congratulations on a job well done! Dan Fahnestock (center), DNA Technical Leader for the Police Department, received a Letter of Commendation from County Executive Steve Ehlmann for his extensive work that helped close a 30-year old murder case. County Executive Ehlmann and Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar presented the letter at the Jan. 26 County Council meeting.
Prosecuting Attorney Lohmar stated that Dan gave professional, thorough and easy-to-understand testimony at trial, and that one of the defense attorneys commented on the meticulousness of his work.
“Without Dan’s tireless work, there was simply no way we would have gotten convictions and two life sentences (for the criminals),” said Lohmar. Dan’s testimony was even requested by the jury during deliberations instead of the testimony of the country’s leading DNA expert.
