ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – After closing briefly to temporarily locate the St. Charles County Department of Public Health, the department’s Vital Records program will reopen on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020. Certified printed copies of Missouri birth and death records can be obtained from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the temporary facility, located at 1551 Wall Street in St. Charles.

Immediate family members can request birth records for those born in Missouri since 1920 and death certificates for those whose death occurred in Missouri since 1980. Request applications are available at the Vital Records department or online at sccmo.org/VitalRecords.

Copies of birth certificates are $15 each, and death certificates are $13 for one copy and $10 for each additional death certificate copy ordered at the same time. Please note: Effective Aug. 28, the charge for death records will increase to $14 for the first copy and $11 for additional certificates ordered at the same time. St. Charles County accepts cash, money orders, checks (with proper identification) and credit/debit cards (an additional fee applies) for payment of these records.

To obtain a copy of a birth or death certificate, an applicant must present a document containing a photo identification — such as a driver’s license, passport, or school, work or military badge. If an applicant does not have a photo ID, at least two alternate forms of identification must be presented. These documents must include the applicant’s name, and the name of the company or organization issuing the document.

The Department of Public Health relocated to the Wall Street address last month while building improvements are made to the office on Boones Lick Road in St. Charles. The improvements are needed to reduce opportunities for direct, face-to-face interaction and the spread of infection while receiving services. The modifications will take several months to complete.

For more information, please call (636) 949-7558.
