COVID Vaccinations Available for the Community

Vaccinations

As the COVID-19 Delta variant becomes more prevalent throughout the country, the St. Charles County Department of Public Health (DPH) continues to provide multiple opportunities for residents to receive the vaccine. As of July 28, 49.9 percent of County residents have initiated vaccination and 44.8 percent have completed vaccination.

“I encourage residents to talk with a healthcare provider they trust, ask them if the vaccine is safe for them, and follow the advice of that healthcare professional ,” says St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann.

Clinical studies show COVID-19 vaccination is safe and highly effective in:

•             Preventing infection.

•             Reducing the risk for severe complications and hospitalization.

•             Stopping the spread of the virus and variants.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

  • Community Events: Held at locations around St. Charles County, community vaccination events are posted weekly on DPH’s COVID Vaccine Information page under “Vaccine News and Updates.” The events are open to anyone ages 12 and older for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, or those 18 and older for the Moderna or Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Individuals ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the vaccination. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call St. Charles County's COVID-19 Hotline 8:30 a.m.— 4:30 p.m., Monday—Friday, at 636-949-1899.

  • Immunization Clinic: Residents may also make an appointment 9 a.m.—12 p.m., or 1—4 p.m., on Fridays at the department’s Immunization Clinic, located at 1650 Boone’s Lick in St. Charles. Call 636-949-1857 to make an appointment (appointments are required for vaccinations through the Immunization Clinic; those without an appointment cannot be accommodated).

COVID-19 Testing

DPH also conducts free COVID-19 testing by appointment. A link to schedule and additional testing information is available online. Scheduling confirmation and test results are sent by email. If you do not have an email address, call the COVID-19 Hotline 8 a.m.—5 p.m., Monday—Friday, at 636-949-1899 to schedule an appointment.
