St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the grand opening of its 11th regional park located in Cottleville, MO. College Meadows Park, an 80-acre park development situated on the campus of St. Charles Community College, will be dedicated during a ribbon cutting ceremony that begins at 4:30 p.m., on Monday, April 20. Citizens of all ages are invited to come out to explore the new fitness trail, nine-hole disc golf course, and participate in a disc throwing contest for an opportunity to win a free park cabin rental. The new park is located near the west entrance of the campus at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.

“College Meadows Park is conveniently located near the heart of St. Charles County and is designed to accommodate citizens of all ages and abilities,” said St. Charles County Parks Director Bettie Yahn-Kramer.

The new park features a nine-hole disc golf course and an outdoor fitness trail that connects with nearby greenways and schools. The fitness trail encompasses 10 exercise stations and a fitness machine that’s accessible for wheelchairs. The nine-hole disc golf course features concrete tee pads and professional Mach V Disc Golf Baskets that weave through park scenic meadows.

College Meadows Park is a joint partnership between the St. Charles County Parks Department and the St. Charles Community College. Under the agreement, St. Charles Community College owns the property, and the Parks Department will manage the park through a 20-year renewable lease for up to a maximum term of 60 years.

For the past 18 years, the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department has been developing unique regional parks that provide guests with recreation experiences that enhance the natural and historical heritage of County land. Since its inception in 1997, the department has acquired a total of 3,156 acres of land reserved for County parks. This includes the opening of 11 parks, with six reserved for future parkland.

The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department offers unique parks, diverse facilities and a broad range of programs and special events for all ages to enjoy throughout the year. In addition to features that enhance the region's historical and natural environmental heritage, a number of amenities are available for use by groups, families, and individuals at each of the St. Charles County parks. Included in this are picnic shelters, camping facilities, and indoor lodges that can host weddings, family functions, and business conferences.
