The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Joseph G. McCulloch announces that Richard Emery, 51, was sentenced today to serve an additional 210 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after being found guilty of seven counts of Armed Criminal Action, three counts of Assault in the 1st Degree, and one count Attempted Robbery in the 1st Degree. Emery was convicted of four counts of Murder in the 1st Degree by a jury and sentenced to the death penalty in October of 2022 for the killings of his girlfriend, her mother and her two children. These are additional charges that were not addressed in the original trial. The 210 years imposed today is consecutive to the death sentences he received in October of 2022.
“Mr. Emery received the justice he deserved. No amount of incarceration will ever be sufficient to address the harm he has caused both physically and emotionally to so many people.” Joseph G. McCulloch
The sentence was imposed by the Honorable Michael Fagras.
