St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Highway Department opened the Deer Creek Road Extension project. The project connects Deer Creek Drive and Elaine Drive to provide a link over Peruque Creek, and adds an additional north-south roadway between Highway P and the I-70 North Outer Road. The route is west of Highway M (Main Street) and east of Hoff Road in O’Fallon.
“This new roadway provides residents with a convenient way to access Interstate 70 from Highway P,” said County Engineer Craig Tajkowski. “But more importantly, the extension gives area public safety and emergency services agencies a quickly accessible alternate route in order to reach residents in the area when help is needed.”
St. Charles County’s ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax, reauthorized by a 77 percent vote in August 2012, funded the project. The County is using changeable message boards to inform residents of the opening.
