St. Charles County, Missouri – If finding a new permanent, full-time job or just making extra money for the holidays is on your to-do list, then the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County has the perfect opportunity for you! The Center is hosting the third annual Holiday Hiring Blitz. The event is on two days, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, and from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24.
“Now is a great time to find a new full-time job or to apply for a temporary seasonal job in St. Charles County,” said Scott Drachnik, director of the St. Charles County Department of Workforce & Business Development, operator of the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County. “The Holiday Hiring Blitz is a convenient way for job seekers and employers to connect whether you are looking for a new job at a local manufacturer, school district, government, fitness center, healthcare provider, restaurant or retail store.”
Drachnik says many companies take the opportunity to attend the Holiday Hiring Blitz to find job seekers looking for permanent employment as well. “If you’re looking for a job in St. Charles County – temporary or permanent,” says Drachnik, “make plans to attend these events.
Employers participating in the Blitz are hiring for a variety of positions, including food service crew members and managers, cashiers, gifting associates, retail associates and managers, production, manufacturing, packagers, drivers, and more.
Participating companies on Sept. 14 include: Advantage Solutions, US Air Force, CarShield, Catherines, Community Living, Inc., Fort Zumwalt School District, Hollywood Casino, Kelly Services, Labor Ready, US Navy, NextGen, Pharma Medica, SCI Engineering, St. Charles County Government, True Manufacturing, Whelan Security and YMCA. Those participating on Sept. 24 include: AMC Theatres, Cracker Barrel, Kokomo Joe’s, Macys, Medical Transportation Management, Nike, St. Charles Convention Center, State of Missouri, Transland, True Manufacturing and WIS International.
Job-seekers planning to attend the upcoming job fairs are encouraged to make an advance trip to the Missouri Job Center and have a career counselor review their current resume. “It’s not enough to show up at a job fair if you resume is incomplete or structured in a way that will weed you out of consideration,” Drachnik said. “We can also help better prepare people for the interview phase of getting a new job.”
The Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County is located at 212 Turner Boulevard in St. Peters, Mo. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Registration is not required for the Hiring Blitz, and they are welcome to attend one or both events. For more information, please contact Lori Myers at 636-255-6060, ext. 5260, or lmyers@sccmo.org.
