St. Charles County, Missouri – National Cart Company, a leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of material handling products, food service products and store fixtures, has been honored as a growing, family-owned business with a main campus that has been in St. Charles County since 2000.
In 1979, Bob and Dodie Unnerstall founded National Cart Company in the garage of their family home in North St. Louis County. Today, the company has more than 270 employees at its 288,000-square-foot manufacturing and office headquarters on the Highway 370 corridor in St. Charles County. National Cart also has operations in Reno, Nevada, and Hangzhou, China.
National Cart’s motto is “Safer-Better-Faster.” Company officials said it represents their commitment to the never-ending pursuit of excellence for their customers, products and associates.
With the market trending towards more online buying and selling, National Cart has also been collaborating with top retailers to develop picking cart innovations that incorporate e-commerce totes for the warehouse or sales floor, data capturing devices and ergonomic designs.
The company was honored at the September meeting of the EDC’s Economic Development Roundtable and was selected for that month’s award by the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County.
