St. Charles County, Missouri – With up to three inches of snow forecasted to fall in our area early tomorrow morning, the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department is ready to host a free Snow Day Program for children at Quail Ridge Park, located at 560 Interstate Drive in Wentzville.

If area schools cancel classes on Thursday, Jan. 5, it’s not too cold, and there is a significant amount of snow on the ground to go sledding, Parks Department staff will be prepared to entertain children with fun snow activities while they enjoy the day off of school.

In addition to traditional sledding activities in the park, children of all ages will be able to participate in snow games, snowman building contests, and snow relays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The winners of each activity will receive candy and prizes. A fire ring will also be set up in the park to help combat the cold.

Since Quail Ridge Park opened in 2000, it has become a popular place for children and adults to sled and recreate on snow days.

For more information about the Snow Day Program or to confirm that the program is taking place, call the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department at 636-949-7535 or visit www.stccparks.org.
