St. Charles County, Missouri – Children ages 8 to 14 are encouraged to get outside and participate in St. Charles County Park’s ninth annual Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Broemmelsiek Park, 1615 Schwede Road near Wentzville (off Highway DD/ Winghaven Blvd exit). Sponsored by Gateway Off-Road Cyclists, this fun event is free and offers skills clinics, guided trail rides, safety inspections and demo bike use. Register early! The program is limited to 250 children and the first 100 will receive a free gift bag to take home.
“This is a great opportunity for the St. Charles County Parks Department to pass on our passion for peddling to children across the region,” said Parks Director Bettie Yahn-Kramer.
This mountain bike event was developed and coordinated by the International Mountain Bicycle Association (IMBA) and is expected to get thousands of children participating in hundreds of cycling events across the nation.
Additional businesses supporting the event include, Alpine Shop, Granada Cyclery, Bike Stop Café, REI, Momentum Cycles and Jamis Bicycles.
