St. Charles County, Missouri – Join the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department for two exciting river adventures this year; one on the mighty Mississippi River and another on the Missouri River.

Ride the River with a Ranger, a new program led by St. Charles County Park Rangers, teaches guests ages 12 and older how to safely canoe down the river. These guided river excursions are perfect for individuals, groups, scouts and organizations.

Register for one float trip or sign-up for both! On Saturday, April 29, ride the Mississippi River from Hideaway Harbor Park near Portage de Sioux to West Alton, and on Saturday, May 13, float the Missouri River from Klondike Park near Augusta to St. Charles. All floats begin at 10 a.m. and last into the afternoon. Lunch and transportation back to the park is provided with each reservation. Prior to floating, participants must attend a mandatory training seminar from 10 a.m. – noon on April 15 at Broemmelsiek Park near Defiance.

Pre-registration is required and the program cost is $100 per person for each adventure. To reserve a seat, call the Parks Department at 636-795-1137 or visit www.stccparks.org. Participants will be assigned a seat in a two man canoe or a group canoe that holds 10 guests.
