ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – St. Charles County’s Canine Carnival celebrates “Man’s Best Friend” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 15 at the Pet Adoption Center, 4850 Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The Canine Carnival is a family friendly activity featuring games, giveaways, exhibits and other festivities to celebrate our four-legged friends.

Enjoy the Dog Days of Summer with your family pet or welcome one of our adoptable dogs into your forever home at this free, outdoor event. The Pet Adoption Center is located across from the community college.

Canine Carnival activities include:

  • Adoption specials: $30 for all dogs ages 2 and older (half-off the regular adoption fee) during the event
  • Animal demonstrations and owner discussions to learn more about our four-legged friends
  • Carnival games, including Dunk the Animal Control Officer, Bean Bag Toss and more
  • Giveaways and raffles
  • Treats available for purchase, featuring Kona Ice

“Dogs bring joy and laughter to our homes, and studies show that dog ownership positively impacts an owner’s quality of life” Katie Willis, director for St. Charles County’s Division of Humane Services says. “Our Canine Carnival celebrates the tight bond that owners develop with their dogs.”

The Pet Adoption Center offers affordable adoptions throughout the year. Dogs and cats of all ages can be adopted for $60. This fee includes a health examination, initial vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchipping and other services that are not always included when adopting elsewhere. The facility is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (with extended hours until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays).  As an added convenience, the Pet Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. To view pets now available for adoption, please visit www.sccmo.org/pets.

The Pet Adoption Center features canines of many breeds, sizes and ages that are eager to join their forever homes. Our team strives to collect a history of the animal, to treat medical issues and to assess temperament, so that these pets can make a smooth transition into your home. During your visit, staff will help you select the best pet for your family, allow time for interaction before adoption, and provide assistance on pet parenting. For information, please call 636-949-7387.
