St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Highway Department reopened South Shore Road Bridge between Seeburger Road and Harbor Grove Drive today. The completed improvements include a new, larger box culvert, wider lanes, shoulders and safety guardrail improvements.
“Mississippi River flooding extended the closure time, but the roadway is open now and much improved,” says St. Charles County Engineer Craig Tajkowski. “While the roadway is open to traffic, the contractor still is wrapping up minor items adjacent to the roadway through the next week. We encourage all motorists passing through to follow the posted speed limit and to be alert for construction personnel working as they finalize the project.”
This road project is part of a continuing effort by St. Charles County Government to improve the county’s road system for the safety of the traveling public.
