Prosecutor’s Office Acknowledged at Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil
On October 22, 2014 a Candlelight Vigil, hosted by Lindenwood University, was held to draw attention to the problem of Domestic Violence. This observance was to honor and support those affected by violence in the home, and also to celebrate those who have survived and persevered. The vigil recognized those who support and protect the women and children who find themselves disadvantaged. Among those recognized was Tim Lohmar, St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney, for his continued effort to aggressively prosecute domestic violence offenders. Tim highlighted the importance of recognizing domestic violence as a crime and putting an end to the notion that this is not a private family matter.
“We’re proud to serve along with our community partners in continuing to stand against domestic violence. We’re grateful to the various community organizations who oftentimes serve as a voice to victims, and we recognize that we cannot fight this battle alone.”
