St. Charles County, Missouri – Children can discover new and exciting adventures this summer with the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department! Whether it’s a day-long adventure or week-long camp for exploring nature, fishing, history, sports, arts, and crafts, our unique summer programs unlock our child’s innermost fun. Children stay active, make friends, and have fun in a safe and supervised park environment. Register now! Space is limited for these affordable, age-appropriate experiences.
Join us for these action-packed summer camps that are scheduled in a St. Charles County Park near you:
Camp YAP
9 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday–Friday, June 11–15, June 25–29, July 9–13 and
July 23–27
Make plans now and sign up for Camp YAP, a traditional summer day camp for children ages 6–12 held at the Youth Activity Park in Dardenne Prairie. Camp activities include sports, arts/crafts, indoor/outdoor games, special guests, snacks, music and an age-appropriate movie at the Town Square Movie Theatre. You’ll need to bring your own lunch each day, but the program fee of $110 includes a T-shirt, water bottle and an ice cream sundae bar on Fridays. Space is limited so register early! Nature Camp
9 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday–Friday, June 11–15
Looking for a camp that gives your child the opportunity to explore the outdoors? Then look no further! Nature Camp is an all-day, week-long adventure for youth ages 9–13 at Indian Camp Creek Park in Foristell. Campers discover nature using sensory awareness and science with safe, hands-on experimental activities. Participants will be able to take a hike, explore a creek, build a shelter, find wild edibles, discover their crafty side, play games, and make new friends along the way! Cost is $100. Bring a water bottle and sack lunch each day except Friday, when there will be a special lunch provided. Wear closed-toe shoes every day and be prepared to get wet and dirty. The camp is held outdoors, rain or shine.
Fish University 101
9 a.m.–4 p.m., Tuesday–Wednesday, June 12–13
Fish University is our newest fishing program that gives anglers an opportunity to expand their skills. Fish University 101, the first in a four-part learn-to-fish series with St. Charles County Parks, meets at Shelter #6 in Quail Ridge Park near Wentzville. Participants learn and use a variety of angling techniques while fishing in ponds, lakes, and streams located in the park. Cost of this two-day class is $30 and includes lunch, beverages and snacks. It is appropriate for children ages 8–15, and perfect for beginning anglers. You must take Fish University 101 (or have participated in any of our previous St. Charles County Parks Fish Camps) to be eligible to register for Fish University 102, 103 and 104. Registration is required.
Park Explorer Kids Club
8:30–11:30 a.m., Monday–Friday, June 18–22, July 9–13
Discover nature and the outdoors during Park Explorer Kids Club at one of two St. Charles County Parks! This week-long nature camp allows children ages 7–11 to learn about the environment, prairies, trails, and waterways through nature-themed games, crafts, activities, and special friends of the park. Explorers meet daily for three hours; a special lunch is provided on Friday. Cost is $45 per person and registration is required. Each session is limited to 24 participants. Wear closed-toe shoes every day and be prepared to get wet and dirty. The camp is held outdoors, rain or shine.
Fish University 102
9 a.m.–12 p.m., Wednesday, June 20
Fish University 102 is the second in a four-part learn-to-fish series with St. Charles County Parks and meets at Shelter #6 in Quail Ridge Park near Wentzville. Geared toward youth ages 8–15, participants must have attended Fish University 101 or one of our previous Fish Camps to be eligible for this session. Fish University 102 will expand on knowledge gained in Fish University 101. Participants try their luck at pan fishing and learn about the various lures and bait that are popular with this type of fishing. Cost of the program is $10 and registration is required.
Fish University 103
9 a.m.–12 p.m., Wednesday, June 27
Fish University 103 is the third in a four-part learn-to-fish series with St. Charles County Parks and meets at Betty’s Lake in Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance. Geared toward youth ages 8–15, participants must have attended Fish University 101 or one of our previous Fish Camps to be eligible for this session. Fish University 103 expands on the knowledge gained in previous Fish University classes. Participants learn how to fish for bass with lures and using other techniques. Cost of the program is $10.
Fish University 104
6–10 p.m., Wednesday, July 11
Fish University 104 is the fourth and final session in a four-part learn-to-fish series with St. Charles County Parks. The class meets at Betty’s Lake in Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance. Geared toward youth ages 8–15, participants must have attended Fish University 101 or one of our previous Fish Camps to be eligible for this session. Fish University 104 expands on knowledge gained in previous Fish University classes. Participants fish for catfish, and learn how to lure the fish to the hook, different bait options and other techniques. A Park Ranger will be with the camp in the park after hours for this night-time fishing experience. Cost of the program is $10.
History Explorer Kids Club
9 a.m.–12 p.m., Monday–Friday, July 16–20
Discover history in fun and exciting ways at the Heritage Museum in St. Charles! This week-long camp engages children ages 6-14 with local history experiences by using historic-themed activities, challenges and crafts. Discover how exciting history can be through this exciting camp! Cost is $40 per child and registration is required. Participants will meet every morning in the museum’s conference room. Boone Home Day Camp
8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday, July 23–27
Send your child to our frontier for a fun-filled day camp! At the Boone Home Day Camp, campers ages 10–17 will participate in activities that stimulate the mind and body. They’ll learn bartering and trading at the general store, try their strength at tomahawk throwing targets, help the carpenter with woodworking, dance to fiddle music, learn to build a log cabin, splash in the Femme Osage Creek, and much more! Registration is $150 per child, which covers all material costs and a camp T-shirt. Lunch is not included, please bring a sack lunch. Call 636-798-2005 for questions.
