The St. Charles County Parks Department and the Foundry Art Centre held the second annual Paint Your County Parks competition from August 1 through October 31, 2014. The art contest was free to enter. There were 34 contestants who registered this year and will be present at the reception. The artists could use watercolors, oils, gouache or acrylics to paint scenes of any of the 10 County Parks currently open to the public.
“We have artists from Illinois and Missouri competing in the Paint Your County Parks competition this year,” said St. Charles County Parks Director, Bettie Yahn-Kramer. “One artist is from O’Fallon, Illinois and one even lives as far as Columbia, Missouri."
The winning painting will hang at the County Parks Administration Office, located at 201 N. Second Street St. in St. Charles for guests to stop in and see.
