1. Your Transportation Dollars in Motion

A mailer was distributed to county residents earlier this month with details about projects funded by St. Charles County’s ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax. Since it first was enacted in 1985, the Transportation Sales Tax has resulted in $1 billion in public transportation improvements, 1,100 miles of new or improved roads, and has filled a $122 million gap in the Missouri Department of Transportation budget to fund an additional 32 projects. These funds keep our infrastructure growing and stable, and help keep St. Charles County moving. Learn more about projects funded by the ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax over the last 36 years, and future challenges the sales tax could help address.
