2. File Personal Property Assessments Online

Save time (and a stamp!) by filing your 2023 personal
property assessment online. Just find the e-filing website and unique secure access code on the form mailed from the St. Charles County Assessor at the end of January. Assessment forms must be completed and returned to the Assessor by March 1.

Personal property assessments must be filed every year. Those who do not turn it in may be charged a late filing penalty fee of up to $105 and experience delays in renewing or registering license plates. For more information, visit the Assessor’s website. For questions, please call 636-949-7420.

3. Recorder of Deeds Offering Fully Online Marriage License Process
The St. Charles County Recorder of Deeds office now is one of two offices in the State of Missouri beta testing a new system that enables the processing of electronic marriage license applications without the need for either applicant to appear at the office in person.

“This updated system adds convenience for all marriage license applicants, but especially residents who currently are out of the area or otherwise cannot both visit our office in person during regular business hours,” says Mary Dempsey, St. Charles County Recorder of Deeds.

4. New Voter Registration Laws in Effect

Have you moved recently? With the enactment of new voting laws, current Missouri residents now have more flexibility to update their address and register to vote. New Missouri residents and those who have not previously registered to vote are required to register four weeks before an election. If you have moved from another Missouri address, you can update your address prior to Election Day, or on Election Day, you can go to the Election Authority office, update your address, and vote the same day. Register to vote or update your address online.

This course uses a blended learning system, with students completing an online portion prior to attending the class date.
