Parks Close Due to Flooding 

Parks Close Due to Spring Flooding.

Three St. Charles County Parks situated along the swollen Mississippi and Missouri Rivers have been closed due to major spring flooding. Bangert Island in St. Charles, Hideaway Harbor Park in Portage des Sioux and Riverside Landing in St. Charles are closed and will remain closed until further notice. Please check our Rainout Line or call 636-707-0011 for park closure updates. 

New Campsites Open at Indian Camp Creek Park

More campsites open at Indian Camp Creek Park.

Eight new campsites are now open at Indian Camp Creek Park in Foristell! Each campsite is limited to two tents with a maximum of five guests, features a picnic table and fire ring, and costs $10 per night to reserve. Located just past the Group Camping Area in the park, the new sites are near composting restroom facilities and a nearby water source.

There are several ways to reserve a campsite:

  • Call the Parks Department at least one day prior to the reservation date at
    636-949-7535, 8 a.m. to noon, Monday – Friday.
  • Visit us online at stccparks.org at least four days prior to the reservation date.
  • Walk-in and reserve any available campsite by paying with cash. Fee envelopes with easy step-by-step instructions are available at the information area.

New Activity Guide Available 

New May-Aug. 2019 Park Activity Guide is available!

Your guide to summer fun is here! The latest 2019 Park Activity Guide features information about upcoming programs, camps, special events and hands-on activities planned in our parks through August.

Whether it’s a free family hiking event, an exciting fishing camp, a full-day summer camp, an extreme sports class, or a special event in the park, the Parks Department has something for citizens of all age and interests.  

Coming up: Don’t miss our 2019 Daniel Boone Home Brew Fest from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at The Historic Daniel Boone Home in Defiance. Participants 21 years and older will enjoy unlimited tastings from local breweries and homebrewers in a souvenir tasting glass, listen to music from the Silver Creek Bluegrass Band and Skylark Brothers Band and purchase food from the Noto Pizza Food Truck, all in our scenic historic village setting. New this year: the homebrewer with the 'best tasting beer' will get to brew and serve their winning recipe at Good News Brewing in O’Fallon. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door and include a ticket for a tour of The Historic Boone Home. Designated driver tickets are free. To purchase tickets, call the park at 636-798-2005 or register online.

Experience FREE Yoga in the Park  


Experience FREE Yoga in the Park!

Get active by nature at Yoga in the Park from 8 to 9 a.m., every Saturday, June through September, at Veterans Tribute Park in Weldon Spring. This new program promotes community health, energizes the body and gives citizens of all ages a sense of inner peace. Participants will be stretching and moving during the class and are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothes, bring a mat or towel, and water to drink. Those interested in attending should meet near the grassy area next to Shelter #3 in the park. Yoga classes are free and registration is not required. For more information about the class, call

Celebrate National Trails Day at Broemmelsiek Park 

Celebrate National Trails Day at Broemmelsiek Park.

Celebrate National Trails Day from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 1 at Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance. This family-friendly event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and make family memories. Guided, interpretive hikes and bike rides on the scenic trails begin at the top of each hour. Participants should bring a bike and helmet.

And as an added bonus, the Alpine Shop is sponsoring some off-the-trails fun with canoeing and kayaking on Betty’s Lake.  Water crafts and life jackets are available for use.
