How do I send mail to an inmate / detainee?
All incoming mail must have a proper return address, including the sender's first and last name, street address, city, state and zip code. Mail not properly addressed will either be returned to sender or returned to the post office as undeliverable. Mail to an inmate/detainee should be addressed in this format:
Inmate / Detainee name
St. Charles County Department of Corrections
301 N. 2nd St.
St. Charles, MO 63301

Items allowed through the mail may include:
  • Letters
  • Small cards without glitter
  • Photos (inmates may have up to 5 photos - each photo no larger than 5 x 7 inches in their possession at a time)
Inmates / detainees may receive magazines or newspaper only if mailed directly from the publisher. Magazines containing sexually explicit material are not allowed.
