When are the flood plain leases renewed?: Flood plain leases are renewed at the beginning of each calendar year. The leases are $5 per year or the option to pay $20 for 5 years. Please note that adjacent property owners have first right to refusal. Also, only government entities can own flood buyout properties, not citizens.
