Flag Collection Hosted by the Veterans Best Practices Working Group

Have a worn or damaged American flag? Don’t know how to dispose of it properly? The veterans of St. Charles County Government are here to help. The County’s Veterans Best Practices Working Group will host a used flag collection for the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 14. Veteran employees will be stationed at a drive-by collection site at the corner of Monroe and Second Streets in St. Charles, between the County Administration and Corrections buildings. The flags collected will be properly disposed of at a ceremony later this year. The Veterans Best Practices Working Group was established in 2014 after passage of an ordinance by the County Council. The group exists to foster an employment-friendly environment for those who have served in the armed forces of the United States, to encourage businesses in the community to develop veteran-friendly employment practices, and to inform veterans seeking employment of opportunities and benefits with County Government.

Basic Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel has been identified as a leading software skill by businesses in the area. In this workshop you will learn to create a spreadsheet using basic formula calculations including AUTOSUM, how to copy, move and format cells, insert/delete rows & columns, learn about the AutoCalculate feature, how to display formula/value version of a spreadsheet, and how to copy formulas using the fill handle. *Please arrive on time.

*Prior Excel experience required!! Microsoft Excel has been identified as a leading software skill by businesses in the area. Learn to calculate across spreadsheets, use the IF statement/Logical Functions, apply conditional formatting, work with comments, create hyperlinks, and calculate with name ranges.
