    The wait is over! Join us to celebrate the opening of Veterans Tribute Park! Discover all the exciting amenities this 120-acre park has to offer, including a destination playground for children of all abilities, a walking and biking trail system, fishing lakes, a dog park, play fields, and more. A ribbon cutting will be held at the Sammelmann Shelter at 1:15 p.m. Thank you for your amazing support of this new park! Please note: Oct. 20 is the official opening day of the park. Construction and other finishing touches are in the process of being completed. For these and safety reasons, please make plans to visit the park on opening day or after, not before. Stay tuned for details about more opening festivities!

    On Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the St. Charles County Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to the SCCPD at 101 Sheriff Dierker Court in O'Fallon. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. NO sharps, liquids, or needs accepted.

    Qualifying pet owners will receive dry dog or cat food on a first-come, first-served basis. To qualify, pet owners must:

    • Register in advance by calling 636-949-7387 and present identification proving St. Charles County residency
    • Show proof of need
    • Show proof of current rabies vaccination for each animal covered or update the animal's shot record at the time of registration.
    • Show proof that the animal is altered or make arrangements to do so at the time of registration.
    • Bring a container large enough to carry at least three pounds of food.

  4. Adult, Child and Infant First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

    October 23, 2018, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM @ Public Health

    If someone stops breathing or their heart stops beating, immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can provide life-saving help until medical professionals arrive. To spread the knowledge for proper procedure, the Department of Public Health teaches certification in adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid, as well as instruction in the usage of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Upon successful completion of this one-day training, participants will receive an American Red Cross certification that is valid for up to two years. Class is limited to the first 20 registered participants.

  5. CLOCK HOUR CLASS - Support Breastfeeding in Childcare and How to Become Breastfeeding Friendly

    Childcare providers will learn breastfeeding techniques, how to handle breast milk appropriately in child care and how to support breastfeeding families. Successful completion of this class will earn attendees 2 Clock Hour credits. You must register online at www.moworkshopcalendar.org prior to attendance. Per Missouri Department of Health guidelines, children, ages 16 and under, are not allowed to attend this training.

  8. MRC Membership Meeting and Training

    In times of need, many lend their neighbors a helping hand. St. Charles County's Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer-based unit or medically trained and non-medical professionals alike who put their knowledge and skills to use in helping our community. The Department of Public Health sponsors the local MRC unit. Monthly meetings are designed to prepare members for all-hazard emergencies. Discussions include the various roles within the County's emergency response plan, hands-on training opportunities and advanced certifications. Membership is open to any individual, ages 18 or older.
