    In times of need, many lend their neighbors a helping hand. St. Charles County's Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer-based unit or medically trained and non-medical professionals alike who put their knowledge and skills to use in helping our community. The Department of Public Health sponsors the local MRC unit. Monthly meetings are designed to prepare members for all-hazard emergencies. Discussions include the various roles within the County's emergency response plan, hands-on training opportunities and advanced certifications. Membership is open to any individual, ages 18 or older.   3. Adult, Child and Infant First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

    If someone stops breathing or their heart stops beating, immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can provide life-saving help until medical professionals arrive. To spread the knowledge for proper procedure, the Department of Public Health teaches certification in adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid, as well as instruction in the usage of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Upon successful completion of this one-day training, participants will receive an American Red Cross certification that is valid for up to two years. Class is limited to the first 20 registered participants.
